Promotive and Curative Recipes:

  1. Goksura pisti: Prepare fine powder of dried fruits of goksura. Take some fresh goksura plant & pound it & squeeze to extract the (svarasa)juice. Add this juice to the powder of goksura & grind evenly. Then mix with milk & consume in a dose of 80 ml in empty stomach. After digestion of the medicine , consume rice with milk as diet. This recipe acts as Rasayana. (Reference: Astanga hrudaya, Uttara sthana, 39/36)
  2. Goksura ksirapaka: Take dried goksura fruits, pound it & make into fine powder. Take 10-15gm of this powder & add 100ml milk, 400ml water & boil until it reduces to 100 ml in total. Then filter it. Consume in a dose of 40-60 ml 2-3 times a day. This recipe pacifies nervous system & bleeding disorders. (Reference: Charaka Samhita, Chikitsa sthana, 4/84)
  3. Goksura kvatha: Prepare decotion using powder of dried goksura fruits. After the warmth of decoction is reduced, add honey & consume in a dose of 40-60 ml twice a day.This recipe pacifies rujayukta mutrakrcchra(dysuria) & disorders of nervous system.
